Emma

Founder & Director

About: Emma has over 25 years experience in health, safety and wellbeing management. Emma started her career in civil engineering and construction before spending 7 years at the Environment Agency, and then a further 10 years in the higher education sector, working for University for the Creative Arts and Bournemouth University. Emma's desire to broaden her knowledge and experience meant working for Liverpool Victoria as the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager and Emma's last full time role was for Sovereign Housing Association as Head of Safety Services.

Qualifications: Emma holds the NEBOSH Diploma, NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Fire Safety Risk Management Certificate, an MSc in Health, Safety & Environmental Management from Oxford Brookes University and a Post Graduate Certificate in Health Research from Lancaster University. Emma is a member of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (IIRSM) and IOSH and is our IOSH Managing Safely Trainer. 

Specialism & interests: Emma leads our programme of development sessions for Boards and Senior Executives, she is our education specialist and creative arts/industry sector lead and works as a consultant with the Board Development Agency and Blue Monday Ltd. Brett

Head of Training & Diving Services

About: Brett has spent over 20 years at the Environment Agency, having joined as a commercial diver. His role then developed and focussed on contract management, concentrating on asset management for flood defence structures, construction project planning (delivering the role of Principle Contractor) and diving contract coordination; ensuring that the diving operations complied with organisational policy and current legislation. Prior to working at the EA, Brett served as a REME Recovery Mechanic within the armed forces, responsible for the recovery or demolition of heavy wheeled and tracked military vehicles; he later served within the UKAEA Constabulary as a Police Firearms Officer and Police Dog Handler.

Qualifications: Brett is a qualified HSE Part 1 Commercial Diver, he is an Association of Diving Contractors (ADC) Diving Supervisor, IOSH Evacuation Chair Trainer, Fire Protection Associated Fire Warden Trainer, Crane Lift Supervisor. Brett also holds the CITB SMSTS and  NEBOSH General Certificate (Distinction) and First Response Emergency Care Level 3. 

Specialisms & Interests: Brett is our expert lead for diving safety services, working with a range of inshore diving contractors. Brett is also our Fire Safety, First Aid and Evacuation Chair trainer. You can contact Brett via brett@createsafe.co.uk
